Education Minister Geoff Wilson told parliament in a question on notice that the last QBuild inspection at ISHS had occurred in March 2009.

Editor's note : Obviously this does not make a lot of sense, and so we have no way of knowing the truth about when QBuild first learned that the ISHS roof was damaged.

31 July 2010 : An audit finds potentially deadly Asbestoslux at Indooroopilly SHS.

The Courier-Mail revealed that  Indooroopilly State High School was one of 115 state schools that a recent audit found contained Asbestolux, a potentially deadly low density board ( LDB ).

The science block at Indooroopilly SHS had been completely refurbished.

But "The damage has been done to potentially thousands of students and hundreds of staff, so it's small comfort now to say it's been fixed," Rob Wiltshire said.

Mr Wiltshire had taken photographs of the ISHS science block over the past two years.

His photographs show cracked, broken and water-damaged asbestos ceiling tiles in corridors, classrooms and staffrooms in the ISHS science block.

Mr Wiltshire is in the process of launching civil action against the State Government over alleged physical and psychological damage he says was caused by the school's treatment of him regarding asbestos.

July 2015 update : Rob Wiltshire has now been "forcibly retired".

14 July 2015 update : I understand that Rob Wiltshire has been found to be "fit for work" by three Qsuper psychiatrists.

Qsuper have also found that Rob is NOT entitled to income protection

 - because they advise that he can return to work.

The Department's psychiatrist, however, found that Rob has a personality disorder that cannot be cured by any type of treatment.

- because he won't stop talking about the asbestos problems at Indooroopilly SHS.

So Rob has been forcibly retired.

30 July 2015 update : the Queensland Department of Education were contacted by email on 14 July 2015 and invited to respond to the above allegations.

No response has been received to this date.

August 2017 update : Rob Wiltshire has decided to run for parliament.

Rob Wiltshire has decided to run for Parliament in the next Queensland election.

He will run as an independent candidate for the electorate of Cooper.

Rob feels that -

The present Queensland Government has been slow to respond to (asbestos and other) problems, slow to correct problems and slow to reform.

The present 'system' for dealing with (asbestos and other) problems is inefficient and ineffective.

The general public need to be better informed about problems that may affect them.

And Rob feels that he can deal with these problems most effectively if he runs as an independent candidate.
